Nurturing Ourselves
Are you feeling tired and stressed with all that you have going on in your life at the moment? Why not try one of the following ideas to relax. These suggestions are five minute exercises that we can do on a daily basis to nurture ourselves:
- Put a teaspoon of raw sugar and olive or grapeseed oil in the palm of your hands and give yourself a 5 minute scrub/massage. Wash off in a bowl of warm water with a drop of ‘rose-Geranium’ oil added or some rose petals, to feel totally decadent and nurtured.
- Soak your feet in a bowl of warm water with a drop of ‘rose-Geranium’ oil added or some rose petals, with marbles on the bottom. Run your feet over the marbles for a foot massage. Indulge yourself for as long as you like!!
- Light a candle and take five big deep gratitude breaths. Think of at least one thing that you are grateful for.
- Focus on the moment whether washing dishes or having a shower
- Lie on a rug outside and cloud watch, or watch the breeze blowing the leaves of the trees.
- Lay with your feet up the wall for 5 minutes
- Burn some incense or essential oils
- Make a face spray with lavender/rose geranium essential oils, add a few drops of each to warm water and shake.
- Sit down, shut your eyes and think of something/someone that makes you happy
- Dance for 5 minutes to your favourite music
- Laugh out loud for no reason
- Massage your body with a silk scarf
- Dry brush your skin before your shower
- Put rose petals in your bath
- Write a love letter to yourself
- Make a hot face towel
